Steel City Giants
There have been a number of teams in and around the Sheffield area since the inception of American football in Britain.
The Steel City Giants were formed in the 1980s but soon folded in the same era.
below are some memenots of the steel city giants, so we can better understand and respect our history.
the sheffield giants would like to give a special thanks to Cosmo Nestola for providing this trip down memory lane. below are his thoughs and pictures.
Program
This is the first time I've taken photos of the collection. It had been stored in a box for years until a recent move. Now, everything is displayed in my home office along with college memorabilia. I find the program quite cool and a great glimpse into the past.

Memories
A lot of foggy memories while going through this pile.
Many names are forgotten, but the articles mention some of them.
Jeff Bies and Andy Dennis were very influential in getting us all across the pond.
We lived above one of Jeff's family petrol stations. We had free rent, bouncer jobs at a local club, airline flights, and were paid 100 pounds/week. It was just enough to have some fun when there doing something we loved.
Sam passed away a while back, but Marty and I have stayed in touch through the years. He is a college scout for the LA Rams NFL organization. I added a few pics taken over time.
Marty and Cosmo through the years
The first one at a Hawaii vs. San Jose State game when Marty was scouting for the Chicago Bears circa 2006.
The second one in Buffalo at a college football reunion-circa 2010.
The third in Minneapolis at a Minnesota vs. Buffalo college game- 2025.
The last in 1997 somewhere in California on the way back from Nevada game.
